Open Studio Weekend Countdown...only 2 weeks to go!

During the Easter Weekend Birregurra's practicing artists invite you to discover their studios, providing an intimate and privileged insight into their arts practice.

The Weekend provides a rare opportunity for visitors to chat with the artists in their studios and view works in progress, pieces that didn't quite make it, and, of course, successful end results. Also, where possible, they may witness the creation of a new work. You are invited to experience the people, space, making process and ideas that unfold within the private studios of artists in and around Birregurra.

The studios will be open Saturday, 19th and Sunday, the 20th of April, 10am - 4pm.
We are counting down the weeks by shining the spotlight on individual, participating artists, giving you a little taster of one of the Open Studios each week.

The '2 week to go' spotlight is on Angie Smales
...also known as The Potty Knitter, a potter and knitter who creates quality, functional craft from new or recycled materials. She explains: 'Calling myself 'potty' originated from being a potter but remains apt as I like nothing better than trying something different and exploring my work from a new, some might say, potty, angle.
Over the last 2 years Angie's focus has been on reducing, re-using and recycling. This has resulted in her 'left-over yarn' range. Functional and colourful textiles to brighten the day. During the Open Studio Weekend Angie will be demonstrating some of the techniques she uses to create her range.

You are also invited to visit The Potty Knitter's website.
