After the huge success of Winchelsea Repertory Society’s end
of year play Granny Get Your Gun, it has been decided that this years play will
be the stand-alone sequel Granny Rides Again. To the delight of last years
audience, Granny Get Your Gun involved a number of talented performers who put
on a fantastic display of acting, dancing, singing and musical instruments.
Granny Rides Again is certain to delight audiences with all this and more, and
we would like to invite anyone interested in being in this years play to a play
reading and casting on Sunday the 27th of July at 12pm.
Winchelsea Repertory is a community based theatre group that provides members with an
opportunity to be part of, and work with, an incredible group of people to
create an end of year play which is performed over 6 nights to approximately
700 people. Our end of year play usually involves acting, singing, dancing
and playing musical instruments, and encourages members to be creative and
express themselves. Our performances and rehearsals are based in the Globe
Theatre, Winchelsea.
Our
end of year plays also provides local communities or organisations with the
chance to raise funds by sponsoring a play night. In the past we have worked
with the Winchelsea Fire Brigade, Wurdale Fire Brigade, Wingeel Fire Brigade,
Deans Marsh Anglican Church and Winchelsea Netball Club.
If you would like to be involved in the end of year play,
make sure you attend the play reading or notify the Winch Rep of your interest.
