“SNAPSHOTS OF BIRREGURRA”

AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
Birregurra Arts Group are proud to announce the launch of the inaugural Snapshots of Birregurra Amateur Photography Competition featuring the Len Robb People’s Choice Award. Working closely in partnership with Birregura Arts Group—the Birregurra Mail, the Birregurra Weekend Festival Committee and the Birregurra Art Show are sponsoring the event and hope to make it an annual events which give our community an ever growing collection of artwork and archival images. Winners will be announced during the Birregurra Weekend Festival and an exhibition of all entries will run across the weekend.
Application forms will be available to pick up in a few weeks from a number of shops and outlets in Birre, Colac, Lorne, Winchelsea and Forrest. More info provided in a week or so. For now, here are the general details so you can start planning your entry.

Inside the Artist's Studio - August

Sculptor, Lucy McEachern takes us Inside her Artist Studio - Thursday 14th August
When: Thursday 14th August 7pm - 8pm
Where: Senior Citizens Room, Birregurra (Birregurra Hall - entrance at rear on the left hand side) Lucy McEachern is quickly establishing herself as a leading sculptor of birds. Her work is exhibited in a number of Australian galleries and, having recently been accepted into the prestigious 'Birds in Art' exhibition in 2010 and 2011 at the Woodson Museum in Wisconsin USA, Lucy McEachern has had the opportunity to exhibit her work internationally. 
Lucy joins us at Birregurra Arts Group in August and invites us to take a glimpse of her artist studio. Come along and find out how Lucy produces her beautiful sculptures and get an insight into the nuts and bolts of her creative process.

Everyone is welcome. Come along, bring a plate or a bottle of wine and enjoy the company of other art enthusiasts.
