Colac Community Enterprise™ contributes $1,000 to BCAG

HUGE THANKS to Bendigo Bank and Colac Community Enterprise™ for recognising BCAG's endeavours for bringing more music and performance opportunities to the Birregurra Community.

The one off grant of $1,000 will go toward the purchase of performance equipment for use by BCAG's music groups including Birregurra Ukulele Kollective and Gospel Choir.

In the past 12 months Birregurra Ukulele Kollective and Gospel Choir has gone from strength to strength and are increasingly bringing their popular tunes and infectious enthusiasm to community events including Birregurra Easter Arts at the Homestead, Birregurra Sunday Market, Christmas in the Park and Birregurra Weekend Festival.

Now, with our own performance equipment, who knows what might happen!!

Colac Community Enterprise™ is a program 'From the community, for the community'.

Every member of Bendigo Bank in Colac can contribute to Colac Community Enterprise™  by simply asking your home loan or term deposit to be linked to Colac Community Enterprise™. For more info on and how you can help make more things happen for your community, click here.

Putting the COMMUNITY in Community Arts

In February this year, Birregurra Arts Group changed its name to Birregurra Community Arts. We wanted everyone to know that we're not here just for artists, but more importantly we're here to bring more arts to our wonderful community here in Birregurra and surrounds.

We kicked off the year with the inaugural Birregurra Easter Arts at the Homestead event which was a fantastic weekend enjoyed by lots of our community members and visitors to the area. The weekend was so successful that we raised extra funds so we can bring more projects and events to our town. So big thanks to our supporters — Tarndwarncoort Homestead, Colac Otway Shire, Birregurra Festival & Art Show, OCR and all the fabulous artists who got involved.

And in the spirit of 'paying it forward', Birregurra Community Arts Group has donated $500 of the extra funds to Birregurra Primary School.

We love our primary school and enjoy a great relationship with them — sharing spaces and bringing lots of arts opportunities to the students. We're so excited to be able to contribute to another arts project and provide much needed funds to top up their arts equipment.

As a group, we are hoping this type of 'paying it forward' happens regularly — to Birregurra Primary School, for arts projects and for other groups in our community who want to improve their access to art.

Because that's what COMMUNITY is all about!!

Let's get together and feel alright!
