It's Time To Get Organised!

The Festival and our 3rd Arts Expo @ The Masonic is just around the corner. Artists have been busy preparing, musicians have been practicing and a lot of behind the scene work has been done to make this years Expo our best ever. One of the things that makes our Expo so successful is the volunteers who give up an hour or so over the weekend to act as ushers for the Expo. These fabulous folk allow all participants to get the most out of the festival as they look after artists' bays, should they be absent, manage sales and act as ambassadors for the Arts Group at the Arts Group Information stand inside the hall. If you would like to go on this year's usher roster, please email Debbie . Debbie is currently putting the roster together, making sure that there is always two ushers on duty at all times - so you will never be on your own. Acting as ushers at the Arts Group Expo is a lot of fun - to show you what we get up to, here is a video for you to relive last years action.

Local Artists prepare for the Arts Expo @ The Masonic

A big thank you to the Lock the Gate campaigners for letting us repurpose their, now defunct, yellow triangles Don't be offended if your local artist friends decline any invitations that take them away from their studios at the moment. Birregurra's Festival is just a week or so away, so they are all busy preparing their showcase for the Arts Expo @ The Masonic . This year's theme is Artists at Work , demonstrating and talking about their art, as they move a small part of their studio into the Masonic Hall for the weekend. In an effort to bring you their very best, artists are burning the midnight oil and rehearsals are held all over the town. Participating artists include Ron Eichler, who will unveil his 'shoe sculpture' @ The Masonic. Linnet Hunter, who is busy preparing some fun ways for everyone to join in on word play and poem making. Chris West and Pam Fyfe will amaze us with their individual use of fibre. Rob Mills' pottery wheel will be s

OCR FM Invitation!

Jonathan here from OCR FM community radio station. I present the '921' show over the summer school holidays sharing community information and song requests.  I'm writing on behalf of OCR in regard to new presenters and programming. As I've previously chatted with you or your community organisation, I believe you have a great connection to your local community.  OCR FM gives a voice to members of the local community to share their favourite music, community information and areas of expertise - and we're looking for new radio shows.   Community radio is different to commercial or national radio, as its created and run by volunteers. Programs are many and varied, giving airtime to topics not readily available in other forms of media.  If you or your organisation would like more information about getting involved with hosting a show or a regular segment, please feel free to reply to  921 @otwayfm.org.au Need some ideas to
