Anyone interested in joining an ongoing informal painters group for the purpose of sharing know-how, benefiting from mutual creative support and enjoying casual interactive learning from fellow artists can contact Natalie Newton at email@example.com or phone 52362562
The objective of the group is not to be a workshop but to be a continuing, regularly planned get-together of painters in any medium (watercolour, acrylics, oil, pastels or pencils) for the opportunity to create paintings in a group setting which can offer constructive encouragement, or just the chance to work alongside other likeminded artists.
Whilst no venue or times have been arranged if enough interest is generated a venue and times (the majority preferred from an offered range) will be organized. A small weekly fee will be applicable to support payment of the venue and for morning or afternoon tea.
This fee will be slightly higher for non-BCAG members.
ALL artists of any skill level from beginners to experts are welcome
MATCH Lab is the new iteration of Creative Partnerships Australia's matched funding program for independent artists and groups. Many artists and groups have said that while the matched funding opportunity in previous programs was great for helping them secure donors, they also wanted to benefit from a more hands-on experience with Creative Partnerships Australia to boost their skills in arts fundraising, and learn how to maintain the momentum they’d built in their fundraising campaigns. So an extra component has been added to the program in the Raising Money for Art clinic. The clinic will help participants develop a deeper understanding of what support is out there and how to go about making the approaches they need.
Successful applicants will build their fundraising skills and knowledge at the clinic, and then can put those skills into practice with a fundraising campaign for a nominated project. Their campaigns will be boosted by Creative Partnerships Australia matching funds raised, dollar-for-dollar.
As part of MATCH Lab we’ll fund your attendance at the Raising Money For Art clinic, your return airfares, two-nights’ accommodation and meals; plus, we’ll match, dollar-for-dollar, money raised through that fundraising campaign up to $10,000 per participant, to help you leverage support for your new project.
MATCH Lab can help artists really understand more about their potential to build private sector support and fund their art in a sustainable way. It’s not a straight-up grants program; it’s designed to be a professional development opportunity.

The ‘Songs of Freedom Concert’ is a local initiative to bring greater awareness of the plight of Refugees and Asylum Seekers in our region. It is hoped that, through music, our community can combine their talents and along with OMM Rock Choir, lend their voices to promote harmony, acceptance and support for those in need.
The proposed Freedom concert is all about coming together as a people and taking a stand for those who have no voice! To date, $1500 has been raised to go towards staging this event however much more is required (P.A/ Stage/Marquee) before any actual date can be set. Submissions for Grants (from outside sources) are currently underway to help with funding for this project.
What a musical year 2017 is shaping up to be, as we enjoy the fabulous opportunities the enLIGHTen Me project has brought to Birregurra! It is this project, as well as Louise Brown's planned Freedom Concert, that has motivated us to tweak the Musical Mondays program for 2017.
The hope is that the adjusted program will allow everyone to be involved in joyful music making without having to make a choice between Musical Mondays and the opportunities the two worthwhile, above mentioned projects will present.
- During 2017, Musical Mondays will be held every last Monday of the month, from February through to, and including, November.
- Birregurra Community Arts Group has re-committed it's financial support for the Birregurra Singing Circle for the year and it also will run every last Monday of the month @ 7pm as part of Musical Mondays. All are welcome and the sessions are $5 per person and include a cuppa. A perfect opportunity for you OMMers to keep your vocal chords tuned until Louise's rehearsals for the Freedom Concert start. I look forward to sing with all of you.
- The 2017 Musical Monday timetable is now in place and on offer is the following.
10 am to 11 am Zither Run - a zither run is a 1 hour lesson to get the most out of your zither. We cover tuning, care, playing and navigating the tune-sheets. Everything you need to take your zither 'for a run' and just play. Suitable for all skill levels. $10 per session, includes tune-sheets and morning tea.
11:30 am to 12 noon Beyond the Strum - an auto-harp lesson helping you to get the most out of your auto-harp. We cover tuning, care and techniques. The $30 session cost can be divided i.e. 3 players = $10 each and includes sheet music and a cuppa.
Please note that for the above lessons we have instruments available for you to use, should you not yet have your own zither or auto-harp, so why not give it a go?
1 pm to 2:30 pm - Running with Zithers Ensemble rehearsal - the Running with Zithers Ensemble is a group of zither players who are challenging themselves to take their zither beyond personal play and are practicing to play and harmonize in a group. Membership is voluntary and costs $10 per year to cover sheet-music copyrights.
3 pm to 4 pm - Zither Run - a zither run is a 1 hour lesson to get the most out of your zither. We cover tuning, care, playing and navigating the tune-sheets. Everything you need to take your zither 'for a run' and just play. Suitable for all skill levels. $10 per session, includes tune-sheets and afternoon tea.
